Havent done anything special lately.. havent played all too much either.. Went to Zumanity this past Saturday.. its basically a Vegas show based on sex. I thought it was pretty good, worth the money I guess but wasnt anything special in my opinion. Deep stack extravaganza is going right now in Vegas, I just busted from the 340 today  and had a few interesting hands. w blinds 2-400 w 25 ante it folded to the button who had been playing relatively loose, opening a fair share..  she opened to 1700( standard raise for live donks) sb folded and i had about 13k and look down at 66.. I had a pretty loosey image, opening a ton pre, not really winning any pots though.. I try to re raise to 5300 but accidentally make it 6900.. she tanks and calls.. flop J102 rainbow and its like wtf do I do now??? I checked, she bet like 3k and I folded. Now, if I want to go with the hand I need to check/ get it in on the flop.. there is no point in just open shoving because im never getting a better hand to fold and only getting called if im beat or if there is a monster draw.. anyways,  I fold and she shows me A8dd.. whatev. So i  double with AA and fold back down to 10k.. blind sare 3-600 w 50 ante.. folds to cutoff who had been playin solid and he opened to 2k.. I look down at QJo and ship it in ( like 10 exactly) .. he insta calls with AA and I flop a Q but brick out.. gg me. Patience and tilt have really been effecting my game lately, For the next few days, im going to try to stay even keeled and rarely show emotion whether I win or lose, I think it will help me win and not tilt so bad.

Sorry its been a while.. ive been playing alot of the Caesar tourneys and 2 festa events.. Last Sunday I took 4th in one for 11.. Stuman123 was there and was shoving every hand but I couldnt get anything going.. I won a nice one on UB on Wednesday.. it felt good to win a tourney, its been like 1.5 months and im really starting to buckle down for the end of the year. Last year at this time is when I went on my tear, and this year will be no different. I played the 1k heads up tourney at Caesars on Friday.. I drew kenna James first round.. I played really well and then had AA cracked by 10-10 when he was short and AA<10-8 for the tourney…. overall I thoguht I played really well and I just know im going to pop something off huge soon. I started counting up my buyins for this year and Im down 40k+ live this year.. The tourenys really add up when you have cashed in 1 tourney all year… I feel like im playing really well, ive been super patient and waiting for good spots/ hands.. but they just havent been coming.. I think Bel0wAbove went like 30 straight WSOP and WPT tourenys without cashes.. then he won a WPT title, so maybe I can do the same thing:).. I feel like im super motivated and playing sicko, a major is gonna come soon.. I just know it… As for live poker ill probably play some Caesars mega-stacks next month along w Venetian deep stack events… should be a fun month of November. Im still working on my PCA seat, hopefully Stars starts up some doubleshootout sats, cuz i have my biggest edge in deep stacked sngs. Best of luck at the tables./

The title of this blog says it all… The hunger is finally back, the will to succeed.. dominate, whatever.. is back. I got complacent for a while after the two big scores and Winning the UB major even furthered my complacency.. I thought I could just play my C game and still make a ton of final tables.. 4 years ago thatd be the case, but the players are way too good in todays game.. Last night I won the 23KO on FTP outright. Winning a tourney does great things to my confidence, even if it was a 20-180 man.. it would give me that confidence to dominate… Today I had some money put in my UB account because I plan on winning a Triple crown this week, I final tabled both of the tourneys I played on UB but busted in 6th twice. I also final tabled the nightly 100k but busted in a disappointing 5th.. either way im playing really well again and plan to finish out this year really strong. Best of luck

Well, as many of you know, Sundays are normally brutal for most MTT grinders. For some reason I couldn’t sleep last night because I kept thinking about the Sunday tourneys. I woke up with a winner’s mentality, ready to win; only one problem, I didn’t. You can honestly play your best poker ever and still lose thousands of dollars in a day. It’s heartbreaking because the highs can be so high, but the lows can be brutally low. I’ll be taking off of poker a week which is the longest break thus far in my career. It will be nice to do things that have nothing to do with poker.

Spadeskillz once again went deep where he took 3rd in a 6 max tourney for 3k and change. I ended up finishing 15th in the same tourney. It would have been pretty awesome to be at a final table with my roomie but it just didn’t happen. BigChipsHi also went deep in the 80k 55 tourney. First paid 21k but he busted out in 8th for 2500 or so. Last but not least, Lag-tard Vtlaxer went deep in the FTOPS Main but busted with AJdd vs 66 on an 8d4d2h board for a top 20 stack; so disappointing. It’s just a matter of time before these guys pop off a huge score.

There are two spots remaining for fantasy football league that ItwasSuited is running so get in it while you still can. The draft is Aug 30th. We plan on running an ItwasSuited open type tourney. We will have a few bounties on a few of my horsies and I. We are aiming for the first week of September and plan to make it monthly but, if we get more traffic, we could make it a weekly thing. A definitive date will be posted in the forums when the date and time are finalized.

I plan on writing a blog or two a week about strategy to succeed at poker from a mental standpoint. During downswings you have a lot of time for reflections and I think writing a few blog posts on mental strategy will help my game as well. Best of luck at the tables.
